Overbury Major Projects is recognised for delivering complex commercial workplace environments for major organisations across the UK. For Project Verve, the company required a trusted graphics and signage partner capable of supporting a high profile workplace fit-out with specialist consultancy, technical expertise and precision installation.
What they needed wasn’t just a signage supplier, but someone who could sit at the table throughout the design process -offering practical input, manufacturing bespoke solutions, and coordinating installation in a way that wouldn’t disrupt the wider construction project already underway.
The goal was simple to state but harder to deliver. It was a workplace navigation system that stayed true to the architect’s original vision, while actually working well for the employees and visitors who’d use it every day.
Looking for an experienced signage partner for your next workplace fit-out?
Talk to ARC UK about your project.
Large workplace developments involve far more than producing directional signs. Every decision must support user experience, architectural intent and project delivery.
For Project Verve, ARC UK was tasked with delivering a complete signage and artwork installation package within a tight two month construction schedule. The project covered 47 office areas, each requiring carefully coordinated production and installation while other trades continued working across the site.
Several challenges had to be addressed throughout the project:
The construction timeline left very little room for delays. Design development, approvals, fabrication and installation all had to progress efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.
The wayfinding system needed to satisfy both functional requirements and the architect’s design vision. Every finish, material and installation detail had to achieve a consistently high standard throughout the building.
Rather than supplying signage alone, ARC UK managed consultancy, prototyping, technical drawings, fabrication, manifestation graphics, environmental graphics and artwork installation as part of one coordinated project.
Large commercial projects often encounter costly delays when design issues are identified too late. Early prototyping, collaborative value engineering and rigorous quality control helped minimise risk before full production commenced.
From lift lobbies and corridors to meeting rooms and shared workplace areas, each sign and graphic element needed to be manufactured and installed with absolute consistency. This attention to detail ultimately contributed to the project’s zero snagging outcome.
ARC UK delivered a fully managed wayfinding signage and artwork installation project designed specifically for the operational demands of a large commercial workplace fit-out.
Rather than approaching the project as a straightforward production exercise, the team worked collaboratively with Overbury Major Projects and AECOM from the earliest design stages. This enabled technical challenges to be resolved before manufacture while ensuring every signage element aligned with the wider architectural vision.
The project began with a series of detailed consultations bringing together architects, contractors and other stakeholders. ARC UK worked through the design intent, weighed in on material choices, and looked closely at installation requirements. Where value engineering could shave costs without compromising the quality, that got flagged too. It was this back-and-forth, working through things together rather than working in isolation, that gave the project a clear production strategy to move forward with- one that didn’t force a trade-off between how it looked, how practical it was to build, and how long it would actually last.
Prototyping and Technical Validation
Before full production, prototypes and technical drawings were developed for client review and approval. This process allowed finishes, fixing methods, dimensions and visual details to be tested in advance, reducing installation risks and ensuring confidence before manufacturing commenced.
All signage was produced using ARC UK’s in-house fabrication capabilities, providing complete control over quality and project management.
The package included:
Premium finishes, removable slat systems and precision vinyl graphics were incorporated throughout the project to deliver an elegant and durable solution.
Alongside the signage package, ARC UK managed the installation of client supplied artwork throughout the workplace.
Careful scheduling ensured installation activities integrated smoothly with the wider construction project, allowing other contractors to continue working while maintaining programme milestones.
Every stage of production was supported by rigorous quality inspections, detailed scheduling and proactive communication between all project stakeholders.
This disciplined approach enabled practical completion within the programme and resulted in a fully installed workplace environment with zero snagging at handover.

Delivering a complex workplace signage project requires careful coordination between design, production and installation teams. For Project Verve, ARC UK followed a structured approach that ensured every stage of the project progressed efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards.
The project began with detailed discussions involving Overbury Major Projects, AECOM and key stakeholders. ARC UK reviewed the architectural vision, workplace layouts and project objectives to develop a signage strategy that balanced aesthetics, functionality and programme requirements.
Working closely with the design team, ARC UK prepared technical drawings, prototype signage and material samples for approval. This collaborative stage helped refine the specification, validate construction details and identify opportunities for value engineering before production commenced.
Following approval, all signage and graphic elements were manufactured using ARC UK’s in-house production facilities. Maintaining control over fabrication ensured consistent quality, precise finishing and reliable project management throughout the project.
The production package included:
Project Verve demonstrates how professionally planned wayfinding signage contributes to far more than navigation. By combining thoughtful design with precision manufacturing and installation, ARC UK helped create a workplace environment that is intuitive, visually consistent and built to support future organisational needs.
Employees and visitors can move confidently throughout the workplace using a clear and consistent wayfinding system. Carefully positioned signage improves orientation, reduces confusion and creates a more intuitive user experience across all 47 office environments.
Every signage element was manufactured to complement the architect’s design intent, creating a cohesive visual identity throughout the building. Consistent finishes, typography and installation quality reinforce the premium character of the workplace.
Despite a demanding project, consultancy, design, fabrication and installation were successfully coordinated within the agreed timeframe. Early collaboration and proactive planning helped keep the project on schedule while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
One of the project’s most significant achievements was practical completion with no outstanding defects. Thorough quality control, careful planning and experienced installation teams ensured every element met specification before handover.
On large commercial projects, the costly delays usually come from the same place: design issues that don’t surface until it’s too late to fix them cheaply. Getting ahead of that risk meant catching problems early- through prototyping, value engineering worked out collaboratively with the wider team, and quality control that didn’t ease up before full production got underway.
The completed signage project provides a scalable solution that can continue supporting the workplace as requirements evolve. Its considered design allows future updates while maintaining consistency across the environment.
Close communication between ARC UK, Overbury Major Projects, AECOM and other stakeholders ensured every stage of delivery progressed smoothly. This collaborative approach contributed to efficient decision making and a successful project outcome.
