A Landmark Launch in Wales

Sephora’s arrival at St David’s Centre was more than a store opening. Delivered with the LandSec Spotlight team for Publicis and Sephora, the integrated graphics and installations turned the centre into an immersive, share-worthy destination filled with anticipation and energy.

Transforming St David’s Centre into a Sephora moment

St David’s Centre sits at the heart of Cardiff, welcoming millions of visitors each year. For this project, every major touchpoint was treated as an opportunity to engage, guide and delight shoppers as they moved through the space.

From mid-October, the centre began to change. What was once a familiar retail environment became a countdown to something new – bold, playful, and unmistakably Sephora.

Centre-wide installations included:

  • 40 panels of bunting, suspended along a key entrance route, instantly signalling celebration and arrival
  • Lift mirror graphics, combining exterior vinyl with an internal photo-op mirror vinyl, encouraging social sharing and organic buzz
  • Circular door vinyls applied across three main entrances, clearly promoting the opening and drawing footfall from every direction
  • A full vinyl wrap across one principal entrance, including mullions, creating a striking first impression at street level
  • Escalator stainless steel vinyl, carefully aligned beneath glass graphics for a seamless finish
  • One full set of escalator glass graphics, featuring six-pass designs to maintain impact from every angle
  • 80 balustrade panels, each finished with six-pass printed vinyl for colour depth and durability
  • 25 floor graphics, each 600mm in diameter, guiding shoppers through the mall and building anticipation step by step

Every element was designed to work together, transforming the centre into a cohesive launch environment rather than a collection of individual signs.

Designed for experience, built for performance

This project wasn’t just about visibility – it was about experience-led retail marketing. In today’s UK retail landscape, shoppers expect more than promotion; they expect moments worth engaging with.

The lift mirror photo opportunities invited interaction. The floor graphics subtly guided footfall. The escalator and balustrade vinyls ensured consistent brand presence across multiple sightlines. Together, these elements created a journey that felt curated rather than intrusive.

For retail brands, shopping centre owners, property managers, and experiential marketing teams, this approach demonstrates how large-format graphics can go beyond decoration – supporting dwell time, social amplification, and brand recall, all while respecting the architecture of a premium retail space.

Supporting a high-profile beauty launch

Sephora’s arrival in Wales brought with it a powerful mix of exclusive beauty brands and cult favourites, including:

  • Charlotte Tilbury
  • Tatcha
  • Fenty Skin
  • Drunk Elephant
  • Sol de Janeiro

The in-centre graphics echoed the excitement these brands generate online, translating digital energy into a physical environment. By the time the store launched in late 2025, anticipation had been building for weeks – not through overt sales messaging, but through atmosphere, curiosity and visual storytelling.

Delivered with precision, installed with care

Installation took place mid-October, carefully coordinated to minimise disruption while maximising impact during peak trading periods. All elements were produced for short-term durability, then professionally removed mid-November, returning the centre to its original state without damage.

This attention to lifecycle management is essential for landlords, asset managers and agencies alike – ensuring bold campaigns don’t compromise long-term spaces.

A blueprint for future retail launches

The Sephora St David’s project shows what’s possible when brand, space and strategy align. It’s a reminder that physical retail, when executed thoughtfully, still has the power to excite, connect and convert.

For brands entering new regions, centres hosting flagship openings, or agencies seeking standout activation within live environments, this project stands as a strong example of how immersive graphics can transform a launch into a shared moment – one people remember long after the bunting comes down.
